Upward Soccer offers a unique soccer experience for all participants. Upward Soccer implements a 4v4 format.

1. Why 4v4?

Players will touch the ball more often during a game, have more involved playing time during a game, have more opportunities to play on both sides of the ball, have more opportunities to score goals, and learn to play the game within the game(4v4=soccer at its simplest form). Multiple case studies support these benefits as well as others not listed above.

2. Where did the 4v4 format originate?

European soccer teams have utilized the 4v4 soccer format for many years and have had great success with it. This allows for more productive participation during games.

3. When does the season at ACF start, how long does it run and how much of a time commitment should I expect?

a.  Soccer begins at the end of August and runs until end of October
b.  10 practices, 8 games.

c. 1, 1 hour practice a week and 1, 1 hour game on Saturday.

4. What are the costs associated with the league and what does my child receive?

a. The early registration cost is $75; After August 12th, the cost is increased to $85.
b. Each player will receive a reversible jersey, socks, scripture card holder, water bottle, car magnet and more.
c. Shorts are optional and can be purchased for an additional cost of $15 dollars.
d. All players must have shin guards, which can be purchased from any sporting goods store.
e. Cleats are not mandatory but are recommended.

5. I have never played soccer before but I am interested in coaching? What are the requirements for being a coach?

a. Practice will begin the week of August 23rd, Games begin 9/10 to 10/29
b. There are 10 weeks of practice and 8 weeks of games.
c. Weekly Commitment- 1 practice a week for 1 hour and 1 game on Saturdays.

7.Where are evaluations, practices and games held?

a. All events are held on the Alliance Community Fellowship Soccer Fields, located at 2185 Golden Heights Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76177.

8. I am interested in volunteering, how do I get plugged in?

a. We have a number of areas that volunteers are needed: coaches, assistant coaches, referees, concession stand, team parents, greeters……
